COMMISSIONS

Commissions for handpainted china are gladly accepted. Commissioning a special piece of china with a particular subject allows you to have input into the design of a personal piece of porcelain. I welcome the opportunity to work with you in creating a unique handpainted item.

The usual turnaround time for a commission is three to four weeks. However, there are variables that may increase the length of time to produce a special piece—the availability of the china, the subject matter, size, intricate embellishment—all these factors may add to production time. In negotiating a piece for commission, such elements will be discussed, and a reasonable completion time will be estimated. If a commission is needed for a specific date (birthday, anniversary, etc.) which necessitates a "rush order," a $25 fee will be added to the cost.

Commissions for portraits of people and animals are painted from photographs, which will be returned upon completion. Prices vary, for example:

Miniature portrait on Limoges box--$475.00
Portrait on 8" x 10" tile--$600.00
Portrait on 5" x 7" tile--$450.00

When commissioning a special piece, it may be necessary to contact me directly to discuss details. Please feel free to call me at (985) 537-6723. If that is inconvenient, you may e-mail me and I will get back with you right away.

Special orders require a 25% deposit if they are personalized (for example, portraits, names, dates). If, for some reason, the order is cancelled, the deposit will be returned minus a $25 porcelain restocking fee.

If an item previously displayed has been sold, you may commission a similar piece. Although no two items of handpainted porcelain are exactly alike, a reasonable duplication is usually no problem.
